Privacy Policy

This is a small editorial site about portfolio website builders. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment section and no user profiles, which removes most of the reasons a website usually holds personal data. What follows is the whole of it, as of October 9, 2026.

Email addresses

There is nowhere on this site to give us an email address. We hold none, we keep no mailing list, and there is no newsletter to unsubscribe from. Until September 2026 a sign-up box sat at the foot of these pages; it was never connected to anything, so it sent nothing and stored nothing, and it has been removed rather than left to imply a list that did not exist.

Analytics

Two pieces of measurement hang here. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, keeps cookieless Web Analytics totals. Google Analytics 4, a Google LLC service provided to visitors in Europe by Google Ireland Ltd., notes the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate city and country, your device and browser type, and how long you stay. This is used to decide what to write next.

GA4 does not log or store IP addresses, and it knows your browser only by a random ID. Its advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off. The data is not used to build a profile of you, it is not joined to any email address, and it is not sold, licensed or shared with advertisers. Server logs, which every website keeps, hold IP addresses briefly for security and are then discarded.

If your device's time zone is in Europe (the EEA, the UK or Switzerland), a banner asks before anything is sent to Google, and Google receives nothing unless you accept. Elsewhere analytics is on by default and can be switched off at any time. Global Privacy Control is respected as an opt-out. Your choice is stored in local storage under analytics-consent rather than in a cookie, and the cookie settings link reopens the banner. Google describes its own practices in the Google Privacy Policy and offers an add-on that blocks Google Analytics on all sites.

Cookies

The site itself sets no advertising cookies and runs no ad network. Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, only once it is allowed; they last up to two years and are deleted if you decline later. Following an outbound link to a platform we recommend will usually set a cookie belonging to that platform, which is how referrals are attributed — the mechanics are described on the affiliate disclosure page. Your browser can block or clear all of these, and nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Outbound links

Some links to platforms we review earn us a commission if you subscribe. Once you leave this site you are on the vendor's property and their privacy policy applies, not ours — we receive no information about you from them beyond an anonymous notification that a referral converted. Our full affiliate disclosure explains which links these are and how they are marked.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, in any quantity, to anyone, for any price. We do not run retargeting, we do not operate a data partnership, and we hold no list of readers to pass to the platforms we review. If a company approaches us about buying one, there is nothing here to sell.

Requests about your data

Write to [email protected] and ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask for it deleted. In practice the answer is that we hold nothing about you to copy or to delete. We will act on any such request within thirty days and normally much sooner. If this policy changes materially, the revised version replaces this page.
